This ain’t Texas, but St Andrews still takes over Houston
Our Committee wanted to get this summer started off with a bang and we did! While the weather may have been all over the place recently, our alumni have been too and it was wonderful getting everybody all together.
The event was at the storied Houston Hall, a bar that’s been around since 2013 (and was once profiled in the NYT!). A former parking garage converted into a bar in the West Village, it’s a bonus for us that it looks just a tad like the famous Kinkell Byre. While the bar typically aims to attract the under-thirties group, our event saw alumni young and old gather together under the classic St Andrews flag.
There wasn’t a structure to the event and this is what made it so fun. Folks mingled with old friends and new, reconnecting and connecting in a way that felt distinctly like a classic pub day in St Andrews when the sun was shining. There was even golf on!
Overall, it was such a lovely couple of hours of chatting and hearing more from you about what you want to see from us! At the event we passed around a form for sign ups for our newsletter and if you haven’t done that already please do so at the contact form on our website (see right-hand top corner!).
We’re looking forward to seeing you all again soon and thank you again to Houston Hall for creating a space for a Bubble away from the Bubble!
