As Climate Week and the UN General Assembly converge this September (22-29) in New York, we turn our spotlight on St. Andrews alumna Saskia Llewellyn. Saskia shares her journey from St Andrews to her role as a Protection Officer at the International Organization for Migration (IOM), part of the United Nations (UN). 

On June 23, the University of St Andrews NYC Alumni Club hosted its first ever virtual meet and greet for members of the Class of 2024 preparing to move to New York City. This provided the Committee with an opportunity to engage directly with new alumni immediately following Graduation Week; many attendees dialed in directly from Scotland, with the words “et super te” still ringing in their ears! 

This month, we spoke with alumnus Max Moorhouse, a 2020 graduate who recently started his own bespoke library building consultancy along with a podcast that explores the intersection of place, memory and reading. Max opened up about his experience founding an independent creative project during university, how it led him to helping people discover themselves through books, and all he has learned about himself, and about people, in the process.

In our second installment of the Alumni Interview series, we chatted with East Coast-based singer-songwriter and alumna Adeline Um, who shared with us the details of her forthcoming album release, her inspiration and drive for making music, and what she hopes to see in the future of the music industry.

We recently sat down with esteemed alumna and accomplished children’s author, Molly Arbuthnott, to celebrate the release of her upcoming book Oscar the Ferry Cat.
